Kassandra Malik is a Registered Clinical Social Worker offering psychological counselling services at Maloney Elkassem Wellness. She specializes in Individual Counselling for parents of young children (0-6), teenagers, and adults facing challenges that affect their mental, physical, emotional, and social well-being.


In addition to her counselling services, Kassandra is a certified Wellness Coach, providing coaching that is often covered by many health insurance plans under psychology or clinical social work. As a Wellness Coach, Kassandra plays a pivotal role in guiding her clients through various life challenges to enhance their overall well-being. This includes support in making informed decisions, improving mental or physical health through specific actions, and making lifestyle changes to foster health, happiness, and confidence, ultimately improving their physical and emotional state.

Kassandra provides accountability for her clients' behaviors and assists them in achieving specific goals, whether related to physical or mental health. This unique aspect of her practice ensures a holistic approach to wellness, combining psychological principles with practical coaching strategies to facilitate comprehensive personal growth and well-being.


Kassandra firmly believes in the inherent strength, resilience, and wisdom every person holds to navigate life's hurdles, which can sometimes feel insurmountable. As a counsellor and coach, her goal is to foster a secure, empathetic, nonjudgmental, and cooperative space, enabling clients to discover new perspectives and initiate the changes they desire in their lives. While establishing a solid therapeutic alliance, she adopts a strengths-based, solution-focused approach, complemented by an eclectic mix of therapeutic modalities to honor the individuality of each client.


Her adept use of various therapeutic techniques, including motivational interviewing, somatic-based methods, attachment theory, coaching techniques, dialectical behavioral therapy, emotion-focused individual therapy, and EMDR, equips her to address a broad spectrum of issues, such as:

Kassandra holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Clinical Social Work from the University of Calgary. Her additional training in Life and Wellness Coaching from Express Coaching further complements her educational background. A committed member of the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW), Kassandra maintains her registration in good standing through ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards.




With over a decade of experience, Kassandra has served in various roles, including mental health therapist for Alberta Health Services, within children’s mental health, community mental health, crisis services, and acute care settings. Since transitioning to private practice in 2019, she continues to support a diverse clientele. Her holistic approach to health and well-being, combined with her broad expertise, enables her to provide comprehensive support to individuals from various cultural, socioeconomic, and religious backgrounds, across different mental health conditions, gender identities, and sexual orientations.


In her career, Kassandra has been dedicated to empowering individuals and families to overcome their challenges and thrive, leveraging her extensive experience in individual counselling and her involvement in multidisciplinary teams to offer tailored treatment and support.
