WHIPLASH?
HERE’S WHY YOU SHOULD CONSULT OUR TEAM AT MALONEY ELKASSEM WELLNESS…
Whiplash is the common term for a collection of symptoms that may include neck pain/stiffness and loss of neck mobility as well as the possibility of headaches, double vision, jaw pain, ringing in the ears or numbness into the face or upper extremity. Whiplash can be the result of any trauma though it is most commonly associated with motor vehicle collisions.
Even minor whiplash injuries may lead to a variety of symptoms which have the potential to become chronic, especially when not cared for appropriately. Inflammation, muscle spasm, soft tissue adhesion and fibrosis, mechanical joint irritation, nerve irritation and muscle weakness are some of the more common sources of whiplash pain. Our experience is that if any of these factors not appropriately addressed, then the symptoms associated with whiplash may not relent.
Chronic whiplash pain is often the end result of a vicious circle that starts with injured soft tissue. This leads to inflammation and muscle spasm, which in turn causes not only nerve irritation and pain but more importantly results in the formation of soft tissue adhesions. These adhesions scar-up the tissue and lead to dysfunctional soft tissues, which are more easily irritated or injured… and the whole cycle continues indefinitely.
At Maloney Elkassem Wellness Center, we offer a wide variety of treatment options tailored to treat your specific problems, by tackling whiplash at its root cause(s). In fact, our well-rounded approach allows us to successfully treat many cases of whiplash where other treatments have failed.
Active Release Techniques (ART) soft tissue therapy, joint manipulation, Activator joint adjustments, Trigger Point therapy and other soft tissue therapies, postural retraining exercises and stretches, Shockwave Therapy are some of the most common approaches that we use in alleviating whiplash, though if it’s ever apparent that you need treatment beyond what we can provide, we can refer you to one of the many other health professionals that we trust.
Additionally, with car accidents often comes paper-work and insurance related red-tape. Our staff can help guide you through the paperwork smoothly so that you have one less thing to worry about.
We provide relief for all varieties of whiplash. If you suffer from whiplash pain, you owe it to yourself to call us...
