Dr. Brett Gannon, DC, ACC
Chiropractor, Medical Acupuncturist

Dr. Brett Gannon's path to becoming a chiropractor took him all the way to the other side of the globe. In 2008, Dr. Gannon was accepted to Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia and graduated as Student of the Year in 2013 with his Masters in Chiropractic (with honours). 

 

Prior to his time in Australia, Dr. Gannon also attended the University of Alberta where he earned both a Bachelor of Science degree (Biology major) and Bachelor of Education degree. 

Dr. Gannon was born and raised on a horse ranch just outside of St. Albert and grew up playing hockey and soccer in the area. With a background in hockey and an enthusiasm for all sports, Dr. Gannon is particularly interested in treating athletes of all ages and abilities and enjoys providing treatment and rehab for sports injuries and performance enhancement care.

 

During his time schooling in Australia, he had the privilege of working with Rugby and Australia Rules Football teams in addition to swimmers, runners, triathletes, and soccer players. He has extensive experience treating a variety of upper and lower limb injuries common to such high level athletes. As such, he has a focus on injury prevention through optimization of bio-mechanics and rehabilitation of injured areas.

 

Dr. Gannon enjoys using his experience to keep the weekend warriors playing and entire families healthy and active.

In addition to his traditional chiropractic training, Dr. Gannon is trained in Active Release Technique (ART) soft tissue therapy, neurodynamics, medical acupuncture, and the Prague School of Rehabilitation methods. These techniques allow him to address muscle and other soft tissue concerns. With a variety of treatment methods at his fingertips, Dr. Gannon is able to provide each patient with a tailored treatment plan to reduce pain, increase function and mobility, and improve overall health. 

Dr. Gannon is fully licensed with the College of Chiropractors of Alberta (CCOA) and is a member of the Canadian Chiropractors Association (CCA) and the Chiropractic Association of Alberta (CAA). 

Dr. Gannon is married to his wonderful wife, Jodie, and they recently welcomed their daughter Alarra to the world. They also share their house with two wonderful dogs named Hunter and Sophie. In his spare time, Dr. Gannon continues to play competitive hockey, soccer, and any sport he has time for.
